[0:05]ÌýHi, my name is Victoria. I'm in my fourth year. I'm from near Liverpool and I'm studying law with Italian.

[0:13]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA student sat on a wall typing on a laptop with a coffee and the sea behind them.Ìý

[0:13]ÌýI unfortunately did not get the results I was expecting on the day but everything worked out fine.

[0:21]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[0:21]ÌýI knew I definitely wanted to study law with Italian,

[0:24]Ìýso the first thing I did was look at other universities who study who allowed law in Italian

[0:25]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA student on the stand in the University Moot Court in a Court grown.Ìý

[0:31]Ìýand Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ was one of these places.

[0:34] Going through clearing at Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ was such a relieving experience.

[0:38]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA member of University staff sitting by a computer speaking on the Clearing Helpline.

[0:40]ÌýAll the anxiety I had was taken away through clearing with Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬.

[0:47]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[0:47] I did speak to someone on the phone on the helpline.

[0:50]ÌýI phoned up the number on the website and it was very quick to get through to them and they were very helpful.

[0:57]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýThree students sat on brown leather sofas, chatting at Barlow's café and Bar.Ìý

[0:57]ÌýI did not feel apprehensive coming to Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ being a clearing student, I felt completely welcomed.

[1:02]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA group of students walking together outside University Accommodation.Ìý

[1:03]ÌýI felt like I deserved to be there. Everyone was so lovely and fitting in was not a problem.

[1:10]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[1:10]ÌýIt's so nice to be in nature as opposed to in a big city, which can be very intimidating

[1:17]ÌýFor your first time away from home.

[1:19] You have a very supportive community around you. The teachers are super supportive.Ìý

[1:19]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýThree students sat on a brown leather sofa in a localÌýcafé looking and laughing at a smartphone.Ìý

[1:23]ÌýYou make amazing friends through the societies.Ìý

[1:25]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Four students sat out on the terrace near the Main University Building overlooking Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬.Ìý

[1:28] There's so many societies to join

[1:30]Ìýso you always can make friends so easily and you always have a great time.

[1:34]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[1:34]ÌýI have joined quite a few societies in my time at Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬, including dance, athletics, trampolining,

[1:38]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýStudents in a studio, dancing.Ìý

[1:41]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýAerial shot of Treborth athletics track, the Menai Straits and Menai Bridge.Ìý

[1:43]Ìýjust a few to choose from, but there's so many more and they're all amazing.

[1:47]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[1:47]ÌýÅ·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ was definitely the right choice for me.

[1:50]ÌýEverything happens for a reason and obviously I didn't get into my first choice of university

[1:56]Ìýbut I don't regret my choice at all.ÌýI feel so happy here and I've had the best time.

[1:58]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA group of students sharing pizza and chatting in a local pizzeria.Ìý

[2:03]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýVictoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.Ìý

[2:03]ÌýAnyone awaiting their results and worried about going through clearing should not worry at all.Ìý

[2:08] It's something completely out of your hands.ÌýYou don't know what's going to happen on the day,

[2:10]Ìýbut I can assure you that should you go through clearing and you call up Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬,

[2:19]ÌýYou'll feel so much at ease and so happy.

Clearing Success: Max Robinson

[0:00]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýClip of Max sat on a picnic bench with his phone.Ìý

[0:05]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýAerial shot of the Main Arts Building and surrounding buildings.Ìý

[0:06]ÌýMy name is Max Robinson. I'm a second year accounting and finance student, and I come from West Yorkshire.

[0:09]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA student and professor in a computer room looking at a computer screen.Ìý

[0:12]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýMax sat on a bright green sofa with art work and a shelf in the background.Ìý

[0:12]ÌýI definitely have heard about clearing, uh, before receiving my results.

[0:17]ÌýI heard people talking about it almost like it was a looming threat, but I really don't think it was that bad.

[0:23]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA person in aÌýcafé on their laptop looking at the Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ Clearing webpage.Ìý

[0:23] When I realised I didn't get the results I wanted, I immediately thought about clearing.ÌýI knew what it was, but I didn't know much else.

[0:29]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýMax sat on a bright green sofa with art work and a shelf in the background.Ìý

[0:31]ÌýSo it was very much an intense hour of googling and researching and trying to figure out what, what I could possibly be doing next.

[0:40]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýTwo students walking down the stairs in Pontio and chatting.Ìý

[0:40]ÌýWhen I was phoning Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬, the person on the other end of the phone was extremely helpful

[0:44]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA shot of the Main Arts Building.

[0:44] by telling me exactly what I needed to do,

[0:48]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA member of staff sat on the computer speaking on the Clearing Helpline.Ìý

[0:48]Ìýbecause I had no idea where I was going for clearing, and I didn't exactly know the process.

[0:52]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA member of staff sat on the computer speaking on the Clearing Helpline.Ìý

[0:52]ÌýAnd they managed to explain it all to me extremely quickly and help me with my course choosing as well.

[0:56]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA group of students in a room having a meeting, sat on tables with their laptops.Ìý

[0:56]ÌýÅ·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ stood out to me because it was

[1:01]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA group of students sat on the desk on the Pontio balcony with their laptops.Ìý

[1:01]Ìývery public about how inclusive it was with its students in all aspects of its education

[1:06]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýTwo students walking through the iron gates outside Main Arts, chatting.Ìý

[1:08]Ìýand compared to other places I'd been looking at, they seemed very cut off and very separated from the student population,

[1:11]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýA student standing in the Student Union reception area, speaking to a member of the Student Union Staff.Ìý

[1:14]Ìýand it was quite refreshing to see somebody that was willing to hear the voice

[1:17]Ìý[VISUAL DESCRIPTION]ÌýMax sat on a bright green sofa with art work and a shelf in the background.Ìý

[1:18]ÌýAnd I was very eager to talk.Ìý

Clearing success Ben Shone: Biomedical Science

Ben Shone came to Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ through Clearing. He tells us his about his experience of getting his A-Level results and how he was offered a place on the Biomedical Science degree here at Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬.

I phoned a lecturer during Clearing week and she described the course to me in more detail and encouraged me to try it. I'm very glad I did. I had wanted to attend Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ but wasn't sure if I was up to it with being a carer and having teenage children. Studying as a mature student has been challenging but extremely rewarding, I have gained a lot of confidence from the last three years.

Clearing success Cameron Arkle: Psychology

Before applying through Clearing to Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬, I was going to be studying at another university, but I am so glad I made the switch to study here instead. Å·ÃÀÐÔ°®Æ¬ feels more welcoming and everything you need during your studies is right on your doorstep.

Not only was I offered a place to study the course I wanted to but the staff kept in contact throughout the process to keep me updated and also ensure I was okay. I was also offered a campus tour, after accepting my place, which also helped as it meant I was not going into my studies without even knowing the University.
